John Greenberg
drums, percussion, string arrangements
As a drummer since age 10, John grew up in Pittsburgh PA and knew he wanted to start playing/writing music after he saw the film A Hard Day's Night. He said, "That was it for me - dress cool, crack wise and get chased by girls - sign me up." His biggest musical influences are Hal Blaine, Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts, Keith Moon and Stewart Copeland.
John has played in several bands over the years, but his home will always be as the anchor that holds NotEven together - provided the payments keep coming.
He considers himself the "sober" member of NotEven and describes his time in the '80s version of NotEven as "a great brotherhood. We could be incredibly wretched to one another, but we always made each other laugh and there was always an affection between us. The fact that 30 years later we picked up where we left off is proof of that bond."
After the breakup of the band, Phil, Paul and John formed another band and moved to Los Angeles where the group eventually disbanded. Then, Paul and John formed another band together but by that time they were pushing 30 and decided it was time to walk away from the music industry...which John did for nearly 20 years.
These days, when not working or chauffeuring his two children around, John spends time at his home in NJ composing and arranging a variety of music (for more info: /john-s-demos.
